Benefits
This website is not currently monetized. However, I have a small budget for environmental writers and journalists and opportunities for visibility for NGOs or community initatives.
I accept two types of guest posting.
Paid freelance articles – for writers and journalists
Due to my limited budget, I only accept 1-2 paid pitches per month and prioritize those with lived experiences different from my own and well-researched content.
I work in CAD and pay CAD 225 for a 1,200-1,500-word article unless you send me an alternative rate sheet to consider.
*If you have a rate sheet with rates different from the above, please send it to your pitch, and I will consider your rates. Please note: I may politely let you know if I cannot afford your rates to ensure you receive a fair value for your time and effort elsewhere. Please consider any fees or currency conversions in your rate sheets.
- Payment is made via PayPal
- I pay within seven days of the final approved edits.
- All internal links back to the author are designated as no-follow
Free collaborations with environmental groups
If you are an NGO, Conservation Group, or environmental leader looking for me to interview you or another organization looking for promotion instead of payment, we can devise a promotional method featuring a story about you or your group. This can include donation buttons, calls to action, and other awareness campaigns.
- These can be articles written by you, or we can work together to put in a collaborative effort.
- Posts are optimized with shareable graphics and pins
- I will share your content across social media, tagging you or your organization
- Sharing your post once published is highly encouraged, but please tag me!
Terms and Conditions
- I’m looking for content at a minimum of 1,200 words
- I may summarize your content in social media graphics – crediting you
- I retain the right to ask for edits or make minor edits for SEO
- I often write an introduction and conclusion to align with my brand
- Make sure you follow me on social media: Facebook, Pinterest, Threads Instagram, and LinkedIn, based on where you are active. This is where I’ll promote you so we can support each other.
- Subscribe to my newsletter.
- I require a contract between both parties.
- Payment (if applicable) is made within five working days of receipt of the invoice and content.
- I will not publish or use content until payment is made
- Payment (if applicable) is made in either in Euro or USD via Paypal
- If provided, I do not retain any legal rights to your photos. If they are your personal photos, I will credit you. I will use them for social media unless otherwise stated.
Guidelines
To send in a pitch, please use the following guidelines:
- Send an email to hello@curiositysaves.com with PITCH as the first part of the title
- Include a detailed pitch about the topic, including possible headings
- Include whether you have original photos or if I need to source from Creative Commons
- Include writing samples or a link to a blog post
- If you’re not a writer and want to share your story, no worries – pitch away
- Include some background information about you and why you should write the article
- Clearly state your terms and conditions
- The content should be original, not reproduced or repurposed in the future or from the past
- I want your voice! I love to feature original voices! So, please put your personality into the pitch. One of my goals is to feature diversity in writing, culture, ethnicity, opinions, creativity, etc. I don’t want my site’s guest content to sound like me – I want it to sound like you! So, feel free to get creative, make me laugh, make me cry, or allow me to learn something new!
